MicroblogPoster was imagined to be a simple wordpress plugin in order to keep up to date microblogs related to your wordpress blog.
We can say that we’re actively developing it since the beginning of 2013.
First social sites that were supported were Twitter and Plurk.
Basically at the beginning, we thought supporting only ‘true’ microblogging sites.
Not social networks that have a microblogging feature, better known as “status updates”, such as Facebook and Linkedin.
Since the demand was high for facebook, we decided to break the rule of ‘only actual microblogging sites’ and we started adding social media networks in general. We also added bookmarking sites such as delicious and diigo.

Technical notes:

We’re using the APIs provided by social networks in order to auto publish to your profiles/pages/groups.
An API is a set of methods that enable the interaction with Users’ data. We can talk about Read and Write access to Users’ data.
In case of MicroblogPoster we’re using Write methods to update statuses, send microposts, save bookmarks.
The way MicroblogPoster gets authorizations to auto post to your profiles will be discussed in our next blog post.
As there are differences between social sites’ APIs.

MicroblogPoster’s functionalities:

The free version of MicroblogPoster has lots of functionalities which allow the plugin to show its full potential.
Some of them being the possibility to add unlimited number of social accounts, as well as a Logs section to easily follow its activity.
Paid features provide more convenience in using the plugin, such as the MicroblogPoster’s control dashboard, ability to auto publish to companies’ social pages and groups.

Basically, we see MicroblogPoster as a helper in order to successfully manage your social media presence.
